Eczema: There is no one best treatment that universally works for everyone. Eczema in infants, for example, may be transient, triggered by dryness, foods such as eggs, milk protein, soaps or detergent. So avoid the triggers and moisturize the skin. You would have to try and see which moisturizer works best. Try topical steroid starting with otc Hydrocortisone 0.5-1.0% and/or oral antihistamine if severe.

Eczema: The goals for the treatment of eczema are to prevent itching, inflammation, and worsening of the condition. Treatment of eczema may involve both lifestyle changes and the use of medications. Treatment is always based upon an individual's age, overall health status, and the type and severity of the condition. Moisturizers like cerave and restoraderm are helpful along with topical cortisone.

Protect: Avoid things that make you break out, soaps & wetness. Wash your hands only when necessary. Wear gloves when needed. Wear clothes made of cotton. Bathe only with a small amount of mild unscented soap, such as dove. Keep the water temperature cool or warm, not hot. Use the medicine your doctor gave you. Use a plain moisturizer daily. Avoid scratching or rubbing the itchy area. Manage stress.
