Mouth: Not much info to go on. If its something new, maybe viral or bacterial. Check it out with a culture. If its going for a long time maybe dehydration or dry climate, possibly acid reflux

Throat pain: It is likely due to dry air or environmental irritation / allergy causing nasal congestion which forces you to breath through your mouth when sleeping. The dry air causes inflammation and irritation of the mouth and throat (as well as lung) mucosa. Try antihistamines and occasionally a decongestant before going to bed along with a humidifier by bedside. If persists, see an ENT for eval.
