Endometriosis: Endometriosis is the endometrial tissue that normal lines the uterus growing somewhere else. It builds up and bleeds just like a period, but it is trapped in the pelvis or abdomen. This causes inflammation and pain and may lead to infertility. It is diagnosed best by surgery, but may be seen on ultrasound. It is treated with medication or surgery. You can see a reputable gynecologist for help.
