Time as treatment: Very common scenario. The pt has a sinus infection and will have either a middle ear infection as well or a collection of middle ear fluid. If you blow your nose too hard it will make matters worse. You may want to ask your doctor if a decongestant will help. As a rule the antihistamines will make matters worse. This may take as long as four to six weeks to go away
