Is tension tinnitus: I am not sure what you mean by tension in the ears/head. But if you really mean tinnitus. I will try to answer the question. Tinnitus is a central (brain) phenomenon, in which there is increased electrical discharge in the auditory nervous system. If it is unilateral (one sided), you need to see an ENT doc and get a hearing test and further recommendations. Unilateral tinnitus can be serious.
