See your physician: Hydoxyzine, prescribed as 2 medications .(hcl, atarax) and pamoate, vistaril) is a prescription medication. It is very sedating and will help with sleep. However, it is used mainly as an antihistamine and anti-itch. You should see your physician, to find out why you have difficulty sleeping. If there are no other medical issues, there are medications that would be more specific for insomnia.
