In consultation : With the prescribing physician. Some medicines can just be stopped, others need to be slowly tapered off to avoid problems. You need to discuss with your doctor why you wish to discontinue. You may really need to be on a medication for a certain problem. If it is because of side effects, perhaps a change can be made. But don't just stop without talking to your doctor.
