Can you test a child's blood sugar with an adult meter?

Yes: Blood sugar meters are not specific to adults or children. Meters which can be used for adults can also be used for kids. Some meters require less blood so might in that sense be better (easier) on children. However, for really young infants, remember that their blood sugars are normally lower and more likely to be in a range where home blood sugar meters are less accurate.

Yes you can: There is no such thing as "pediatric glucometer", however there is some that require less blood than others making it more suitable for testing in children. Before you pursue bs checks of your child, talk with his or her physician as why and what to expect from checking bs. If your child is a diabetic, then of course any recognized brand meter will do the job(verify the test strips are not expired.
