Unsure of cause: There must be a better way to alleviate neck pain than burping. So my recommendation would be to see an osteopathic physician, who can do a full osteopathic structural examination of your neck and back, and see what is causing your condition to be alleviated by burping. It may simply be something related to your diaphragm releasing. But unless a physical exam is done, it's impossible to determine.
