See your eye dr: Hopefully, it's something as simple as going to your eye doctor to rule out that you may just have dry eyes during winter when the heaters on. However by itself, it needs to be fully worked up with a dilated funduscopic examination, to also look at your optic nerve to make sure it looks healthy and normal. So at the doctors office, they do from front to back to check everything!

Best way is exam: Schedule an exam with an eye doctor. That way your entire ocular health can be reviewed and a summary provided to you. If anything needs to be done, then you are in the right place. Good luck!

Get an exam: Your blurry vision may mean you need a spectacle correction. It is important to get a medical eye exam from an ophthalmologist to make sure you don't have any underlying medical eye condition causing the blurred vision.

Sometimes my vision is blurry right after putting contacts in; why is that?

A few reasons maybe: Clarity of vision with contact lenses depends on a number of different factors. 1) the prescription should be correct 2) the "fit" to the cornea should be correct 3) the cornea should not be dry 4) the type of contact lens being used to name a few.... Your situation sounds more like 'dry eye' syndrome. It takes 'some time' after putting in the contacts for your vision to clear.

When I use a computer in a dark room sometimes my vision is blurry. Why could that be?

2 possibilities: Two possibilities: we often stare at computer screens, without blinking enough. This can cause the surface of the cornea to dry out, blurring vision. A second possible cause is due to pupil dilation the dark, reducing the focusing ability of the eye.
A 36-year-old member asked:

I have been wearing biofinity toric lenses for a month, i didn't wear them today and my vision is blurry. Is this normal?

Lenses correct visio: Your vision will be blurred when you remove corrective lenses including the biofinity torics. That is the goal of these lenses - to correct vision. These lenses will not modify the eye to correct the underlying reason for wearing the lenses in the first place.

Accommodation: Well, db, you're 40 now, and you're right on time. The ability of the lens to pulled and tightened to adjust to near and far vision is called accommodation. As we age, we lose the integrity of this function. That's what's happening here. Hope this helps. Good luck.
