Herpes: If mother had active genital herpes simplex infection and if the baby was born by vaginal route, she can pass on the infection to the baby. If baby has been asymptomatic for 8 weeks, it is unlikely that he/she has it.

Most likkely not: Late onset of congenital herpes infection does occur, manifesting as herpes sepsis or herpes meningoencephalitis, but i think that 8 weeks of normal health seems to rule out congenital herpes infection. If you have a personal cencern such as you had active herpes vaginal infection at the time of delivery of the baby, you should speak to your pediatrician.
