There are many rashes that occur in the pubic region such as eczema, contact dermatitis, candida (yeast), intertrigo, irritant dermatitis, fixed drug eruption, seborrheic dermatitis. Testing: Testing for herpes would either involve a blood test or a culture of visible lesions/sores. If you are sexually active and have not been using protection, it may be prudent to get std screening regardless of symptoms you may be experiencing right now.
