Pseudoephedrine: This is a common side effect of pseudoephedrine. It causes tightening of the bladder outlet and external sphincter. This can make it difficult to initiate voiding or can make it difficult to completely empty the bladder in adult males. The side effect wears off when the medication is cleared from the system.
