A member asked:

I really think i have something other than anxiety, depression. how to make sure you get the proper diagnoses when going to your psychiatrist?

Dr. Earle Williams answered

Specializes in Clinical Psychology

Psychologist: The best way to pin point the cause of a psychological disorder is to have a clinical psychologist do a battery of psychological testing. Psychiatrists do not do psychological testing. Generally, what they do is give a diagnosis and try a variety of drugs until they find one that works. Drugs do not cure. Cure is in talking therapy.
