Irritation: Parathyroid glands are small and i don't think that your cough is caused by one. You may have tracheal irritation left over from a recent bronchial infection with a lot of coughing. A chest x-ray should be done to make sure that there is no lung pathology if the cough persists. In the meantime try a mild cough suppressant like robitussindm.
