They can: If your partner has herpes i or herpes ii and they are actively shedding you can be inoculated by oral sex or by touching genital secretions. The herpes infection can manifest as sores on the face. You can also get chlamydia in the eye. So be careful out there. Know your stats and your partners stats before engaging in intimate relations.
