Malaria: The presentation may vary with the plasmodium species involved but often begins with shaking chills, high fevers, sweats, headache, fatigue and nausea and vomiting. In persons who have been in a malarious area for very long and have been repeatedly infected there may be minimal if any symptoms. It also varies with the state of the infected individual.
