Hsv blisters: Yes, but look for common areas such as trunk, scalp (esp at sites of electrode placement during labor). Transmission of maternal hsv is much higher when mother has active lesions but may also occur in absence of genital lesions. When these blisters appear on the newborn it is of vital importance that the doctor be notified asap as this infection is life-threatening.
