Heart monitor: The best way to figure out what is going on when you feel your heart racing is to wear a heart monitor (prescribed to wear for 24 hours or up to 30 days), and you push a button to record the heart rhythm when you have symptoms. A cardiologist or electrophysiologist will then be able to tell if you are having a heart rhythm disturbance or if your symptoms are from something else.
