Spotting : In as much as spotting during first trimester may not be a reason for alert. I will suggest you see your doctor. For the fact that there is an odor to it may be suggestive of infection. Good luck and be well.

Common: It is very common to have spotting in early pregnancy especially after intercourse. I would not worry significantly unless you start having notable cramping or bleeding that reminds you of a menses.
