Discomfort,: Ganglion cyst at the wrist joint gives discomfort, occasional pain due to pressure, some restriction of wrist movements is best managed by excision besides cosmetic reason. It is relatively a very low risk procedure, some times could be aspirated which has high recurrence besides risk of infection.

If it bothers do it: This cyst can grow and get in the way of normal function. They can cause pain. To remove them we may have to enter the joint. This may lead to arthritis later in life (rare). Alternatives: leave it alone. Don't hit it with a bible. It will come back and be worse than ever.
