Fertile mucus: As long as you're not on birth control pills, you should be ovulating approximately 14 days after the first day of your period. During ovulation, the cervix produces copious amounts of mucus in order to help convey the sperm up to your fallopian tubes. This mucus can have the consistency of raw egg whites. It's normal and healthy! discharge that is itchy, smelly, or yellow, should be evaluated.
