A 24-year-old female asked:

I skipped my period. Im sexually active. I've had terrible pain, like cramps. Now thick, brown liquid is coming out of my vagina. What is it?!

See your GYN ASAP!: The brown discharge is old blood mixed with mucus. Its concerning that you missed your period and now are having some bleeding and terrible pain. You really need to be seen by a Gyn physician. These can be signs of a miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy or infection (among other things) and warrant evaluation in person ASAP. Best wishes!
