Costochondritis?: As you have ruled out the major and most concerning causes, check yourself for costochondritis. This is a condition that produces pain where your ribs attach to your breast bone (sternum). Trace the ribs in the area until you feel a small bump and soft spot right where the rib attaches. Pain is associated w/exercise ; heavy lifting.
