Myoclonus: This sudden jerking movement and or twitching body movements while falling sleep are quite normal and are known as myoclonic physiological jerking. It is a benign condition which does not need any treatment. If the twitching or jerking are localized just to one area of the body specific and repeatedly you may ask your PCP. Thanks
