Fecal impaction: The safest way to clear a fecal impaction is to see your physician for a rectal exam first to confirm that nothing else is going on. Then he will prescribe a cleanout that likely include a general laxative and an enema. This would probably be followed by scheduling you for colonoscopy to clear your colon of any pathology. Once cleared, he will get you on a regimen to eliminate your anal fissures.
