Perhaps: If patient has trouble breathing or handling secretions, an oral airway may be useful, and even a transient tracheostomy may be necessary. A naso-gastric tube is also employed in many patients. If you have a family member or friend who needs these interventions, I am sure your doctor could fully discuss these needs.
