Tough ??: Inflammation of the meninges is generally a result of (and not a cause of) CSF leak. In fact, some inflammation in the presence of a leak may help seal the leak. Inflammation may also indicate infection however, so you should discuss with your doc. It also depends on the cause of the leak (post-op, spontaneous, post-trauma, etc.). Most leaks seal themselves, but there is a small risk of meningitis
