Most likely not, but: Ra iuf brought into remission should not abbreviate her life, but if inflammation remains uncontrolled, accelerated atherosclerosis will occur. This is why she needs the care of a rheumatology specialist!

Probably not today: Rheumatoid arthritis has been shown to decrease (shorten) life expectancy. Appropriate treatment can help extend (but probably not normalize) life. Your mother should be treated by a rheumatologist or other physician with experience in treating this disease. Rheumatoid arthritis is usually not immediately fatal but is a serious disease that can and does cause death.
