Regularly: As a rule of thumb, pills with a higher dose of estrogen in them are more forgiving than the ones with lower doses, when not being taken regularly. However, there is no way to tell how forgiving they are in an individual woman. So birth control pills of any type should be taken regularly, i.e., every 24 hours.
