Treatment...: Treatment for COPD includes bronchodilator and steroid inhalers as well as oxygen therapy, if the oxygen level is low enough to warrant it. Smoking cessation is the most vital therapy. Other therapies depend on contributing factors like the presence of an underlying infection, excess fluid, sleep apnea, etc. COPD patients need to be closely monitored by their physicians for ongoing therapy.
