Please explain how estradiol is a carcinogen?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Indirectly: The principal cause of cancer is things which increase the division rate of cells beyond their natural rate leading to an increase in mistakes which can lead to cancer. Estradiol augments the natural estrogen, cause estrogen sensitive cells to divide at a rate beyond their natural programming. This is especially true for the breast, and this leads to an increase in breast cancer.
