Typically unrelated: Ovarian cysts are fluid filled sacs close to the ovaries. They can cause pelvic pain depending on their size. Sometimes if ovarian cysts are very large (>8 cm), they can put pressure on your bladder, but in large, typically aren't associated with bladder symptoms. Ovarian cysts do not necessarily cause abnormal periods either.
