A member asked:

In the lung, if there is a subplueral nodule in the periphery base, is that an area that can be operated on or no?

Yes: Sub pleural nodules are usually easy to access thoracoscopically. Smaller ones may be difficult to find and may require a hybrid approach with interventional radiology and surgery.

Yes: That would indicate a nodule that is more amenable to an excisional biopsy (wedge resection operation) than centrally located nodules. But whether it should be operated on is a determination best made by a thoracic surgeon or pulmonologist.
