Yes: It might just be from the exam, but at 38 weeks, you can go at any time and should be checked for any bleeding.

YES: An exam will sometime cause a bloody discharge. You might be dilating. Any bleeding at this stage in pregnacy needs to be checked. Getting checked is never a bad thing.
