Chest pain when i touch the center of my chest where the ribs meet just below the collar bone, it comes and goes. what can this be?

Costochondritis: Point tenderness is a symptom of costochondritis (tenderness in the cartilage between the ribs). Try putting ice on fhe painful spot and try tylenol/ibuprofen. Some heart problems such as pericarditis (inflammation in the sac around the heart) can cause pain. Blood clots in the lung (pulmonary embolus) can cause chest pain. Avoid activity that makes it hurt. Chk with your doctor for cause.
