A member asked:

Menstrual cycle is really painful every month and i can't take the pain anymore. what causes me to cramp so bad?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Inflammation/bleed: Elevation of prostaglandins in the menstrual cycle is what causes the pain, alongside inflammation of the pelvic organs/tissues as well. Ibuprofen is the best medication for this. Sometimes women have endometriosis, however, and that can make periods more severe. Discuss this with your gynecologist if Ibuprofen doesn't help ease the pain. You may need more extensive treatment. Good luck!
