Exams: First you have an examination of your blood pressure and an examination of the heart and ekg to detect any signs of abnormal rhythm, scars or an enlarged heart or the presence of heart murmurs. If needed an echocardiogram will be ordered to check for enlarged chambers, state of the heart valves and heart muscle. To test for coronary artery disease a screening maximal treadmill stress test is done.
