What are the risks in taking misoprostol + mifeprestone? can i take methergine (methylergonovine) as a form of abortifacient since it can facilitate contraction?

Infection/bleeding: The biggest risk in using Misoprostol and Mifepristone to facilitate a medical abortion is bleeding (heavier than a period) and in rare cases, infection. The benefit is that can be done in the privacy of your home, feels more like a natural miscarriage than a d;c. Methergine (methylergonovine) is unlikely to interrupt a growing pregnancy and will only cause complications for you. Do not advise at all.

Doctor protocol: Doctors who perform abortions have protocols they will follow when prescribing these potent medications. One should not try to come up with their own combination outside of the recommendations of the doctor.
