A member asked:

When we get cold and get goosebumps, is this the autonomic nervous system? also is it small fibre nerves?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pilo erectors: Goose bumps are caused by activation of the sympathetic nervous system which secretes Adrenalin (fight or flight reaction) which causes the tiny muscles to raise hair follicles temporarily. Cold temperatures can also do this.
