A member asked:

Will an ultrasound know the difference between implantation bleeding and a period or would that cause my due date and date of conception to be wrong?

No: Both implantation and pre-menstrual status are going to look like 'thickened endometrium' on an ultrasound. You'll need a little more time to determine via ultrasound if you're pregnant or if you are going to have a period.

Confuses the dates: An ultrasound will measure the size of the pregnancy which will tell you how to interpret the bleeding. If it was "implantation" bleeding the pregnancy will be farther along than if it was a period. You will adjust the due date and date of conception accordingly.
