A member asked:

I'm on steroids for chronic health conditions. if my toddler gets a live vaccine such as chick pox, am i risk of some kind when i get near him?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly: Dependent upon your dose and length of time you have been on the steroids, you indeed could be at risk . The live vaccines are varicella and mmr. Talk to the doc who prescribed your steroids to see if your individual dosing puts you at risk. If you are going to be off the steroids in the next month or two, you could consider delay for your toddler, but if long term use may need a different plan.
