Laser is good, but..: Technically, i prefer greenlight for its simplicity to use and its effectiveness in result. But, remember: the procedure is only to relieve obstruction for better urine flow, and may not improve others symptoms. My more than 450 cases in 3 years confirmed greenlight power. Nonetheless, the outcome still depends on who performs it and how the machine is used; not all surgeons have the same ability.

Laser vaporization : Having performed all of the approved surgical treatment options for BPH over the past 20 years, i can tell you that the brand of laser makes very little difference. Laser vaporization in general has its limitations. The amount of tissue that can be removed is limited and therefore prostate size becomes a big factor. I also feel that none of the laser txs should be done under only local anesth.
