Serotonin syndrome: Serotonin syndrome is a potentially life-threatening condition associated with increased serotonergic activity in the central nervous system. It can happen with interactions between drugs, and intentional self-poisoning. It usually presents within 6-24 hours of a change in dose or initiation of a drug. Symptoms include altered mental status, autonomic hyperactivity, and neuromuscular changes.
