Careful...: Be sure your butterbur prep is free of liver toxic pyrrolizidine alkaloids (common contaminants) which increase interaction with drugs like zofran (ondansetron) ( cytochrome p450 metabolizers). Drug interaction present. Doubt serious issue for you. Check with your prescription writing doc- neurologist or primary doc.

Insufficient data: Butterbur is an herb and unfortunately there is insufficient evidence to rate effectiveness or check drug interaction. There are many traditional abortive medications that are fda approved with sufficient data of evidence based medicine. Rec. Consult with headache or orofacial pain specialist.
