Depends: As long as infant seems comfortable, feeds fairly well, "wait and see approach" for 2-3 days should be ok. If fever persists beyond 72 hours, have him checked.

Visit your Peds: I prefer infants less than 1 year of age with a temp > 100.4f to be checked by a pediatrician asap. You might miss some diseases which needed to be treated with antibiotics (such as ear infection, strep throat, pneumonia, sepsis, etc.). Pediatric er doc is ok on weekend.
