DVT and injury.: DVT can occur following an injury or casting. This is called provoked DVT (DVT caused by something). This is in contrast to unprovoked (unexplained). Since the DVT was caused by the immobilization from the ankle injury, you should not be at increased risk for another DVT from an underlying issue. You should be able to safely resume oral birth control.
