Occur together: Ulcerative colitis (and other colonic inflammations) cause joint pain and inflammation of the eyes in some patients. It is not normal, but neither is ulcerative colitis. The treatment for joint pain is more difficult because nsaids are contraindicated in ulcerative colitis. The eye inflammation (uveitis) can usually be treated with topical drops. See your ophthalmologist and GI specialist.

See an optho ASAP: You need to get your eyes checked out by a ophthalmologist. You may have uveitis, which is seen with uc and crohn's. The doctor will need to do a slit lamp exam. This is urgent though. The joint pain could be related to uc or not. Ibuprofen can be helpful but best to start with your GI specialist with this one.
