Well, that depends o: You need to see a good ortho or physical rehab doc, and get a diagnosis. It's hard to tell you what is wrong without doing a careful physical exam. That's why we learn how to do these exams and learn the orthopedic tests that we perform on patients to make a diagnosis. Muscle trigger point injections usually do not cause lasting pain, but an injection into the joint might. This could be a rotator.
