Reasons for adult-onset facial tics? no history of medication, no history of tics nor tourette's. started at age 22

Maybe not tics: Would consider possibility of facial myokymia, and even the entity of "hemifacial spasm". Focal motor seizures might be cause. If just localized "tics" over one side of face, unlikely to be tourette's. Advise visit to neurologist, get examined and pursue etiology.
